Alternative Energy The alternative energy industry in Tech Valley is heating up and will only get hotter. Innovative technologies are emerging from several companies, universities and research organizations that will significantly impact the energy markets. Tech Valley is also home to The Solar Energy Consortium, a research and development group that is fast becoming a significant player in the solar energy industry. The organization aims to double the efficiency of photovoltaic systems, which convert solar energy to electric power, and cut the cost of these systems in half.
