Leadership Adirondack (LAdk) begins with an overnight Leadership Retreat at the historic Fort William Henry Resort and concludes with a graduation where participants are celebrated for the difference they’ve made and will make for years to come in the community. In between, participants get an insiders’ look into the community, its economy, history, educational system and human service needs. Several LAdk graduates have been elected to public offices, school boards and serve as volunteer leaders of state and regional non-profits. Many graduates have been appointed to the most senior positions in their corporations and/or organizations and to numerous commissions and boards of directors. Their voices are among the most influential in our region.

These capacities play out in Tech Valley’s history, diversity, government, education and quality of life. Those selected to participate in Leadership Tech Valley are expected to display a high level of leadership in their respective careers and a deep commitment to the community.

The program kicks off annually in January with a professionally facilitated, two-day retreat at the Kaatskill Mountain Club in Hunter. Participants then meet twice monthly for six months at various sites throughout the county, where they are given the opportunity to interact with business and community leaders. The program is open to anyone who works or resides in Greene County. Leadership Columbia County also provides leadership training and a behind-the-scenes look at the county for middle management or other interested employees, with participation from large businesses, small businesses and sole proprietors.
