The Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce provides a ready network of support services for business and industry which has become a model for other regions, including: the North Country Industrial Council, the Quebec-New York Corridor Coalition and the North Country Small Business Council. The Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce has partnerships with the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and the SUNY Albany Small Business Development Center, offering free, expert advice and business counseling to evaluate new business ideas or future prospects.

Capital Region

Within the Capital Region, employers have several resources to grow their business. The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is a private, not-for-profit, membership based economic and business development organization committed to visionary, regional economic expansion throughout Tech Valley. The Tech Valley Global Business Network is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit collaboration of five area business membership organizations dedicated to providing education and networking opportunities for expanding international trade in New York's Tech Valley. Through Empire State Development, the New York State's Empire Zone program stimulates economic growth through a variety of State tax incentives designed to attract new businesses to New York State and to enable existing businesses to expand and create more jobs.

Hudson Valley
Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange and Ulster Counties including the cities of Hudson, Kingston, Newburgh and Poughkeepsie and the town of New Paltz.

Columbia-Greene Community College hosts the Columbia Greene One-Stop Career Center, established under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) as part of the Columbia-Greene Workforce Investment System. The One-Stop Career Center serves both employers and job seekers. The Dutchess County Chamber of Commerce’s On-Job Training (OJT) program helps employers to locate new employees. Up to a 50 percent salary reimbursement helps to defray some of the costs associated with the hiring and training of new employees. Simultaneously, OJT provides job opportunities and practical on-job training for eligible Dutchess County residents.

Mohawk Valley
Herkimer, Fulton and Montgomery Counties including the cities of Amsterdam, Gloversville, Herkimer, Johnstown and Little Falls.

For employers in the Mohawk Valley, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is one resource when it comes to planning and expansion. The Chamber assists businesses with business plan development or redesign, small business loans within Montgomery County, promotional and advertising information, health insurance for employees and business resources. The Chamber also has two, low-interest loan funds available to help with business start-up or expansion: the Downtown Association For Business (DAB) Loan Program and Rural Business Enterprise (RBE) Loan Program.
