Certified Development Corporations (CDC) are sometimes called Industrial Development Agencies (IDA), Economic Development Corporations (EDC), Business Development Corporations (BDC) or Industrial Development Corporations (IDC).
These are private, nonprofit local development corporations that are publicly funded. CDCs work closely with other economic development partners including state agencies, Chambers of Commerce, Planning Departments and Convention and Visitor's Bureaus to assist business expansion and attract new businesses to the area.
