Albany Area Ranks 10th on Green City List
American City Business Journals ranked 43 U.S. cities, the 41 metros in which has business weeklies, plus Indianapolis and Cleveland, for its "Green City Index."
The Albany-Schenectady-Troy area, located in the heart of Tech Valley, placed 10th on the list and scored at the top for green jobs per capita. The region also placed well for commuting times.
Relying on information from several government and research agencies, the ranking looks at 20 different indicators including "adoption of green technologies, utilization of environmentally sound practices and air and water quality."drawing on data from a variety of government and research agencies.
