Six Flags' Indoor Waterpark & Hotel Opens
The $43 million Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark - a 38,000-square-foot amusement area, with wave pool, lagoon and various slides - has been officially unveiled.
The new 200-room hotel and waterpark are located across Route 9 from Six Flags' outdoor theme park, The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom. A pedestrian bridge across Route 9 will connect the theme park to the parking lot of the hotel and waterpark.
"It is unprecedented for travelers to the Adirondack region to enjoy a ski vacation in conjunction with a day at the beach, but that is just what our guests will find," Dan Williams, the lodge's general manager, told the Times Union.
The indoor waterpark is a first for New York state.
Guests may also get massage therapy, skin care treatments, sea salt scrubs, steam therapy and Reiki, a holistic relaxation therapy.
