Tech Valley News SI Group Purchases Brazil Resins Facility SI Group-Crios Resinas SA, an affiliate of SI Group, Inc., has completed the purchase of Resinas Indústria e Comércio Ltda., an affiliate of Georgia-Pacific Chemicals LLC. The purchase of a manufacturing facility, product technology and customer data from Resinas Internacionais Ltda. by SI Group was finalized today. The products transferred to SI Group in this transaction include formaldehyde, industrial resins and wood resins with applications in plywood, paper impregnation, abrasives, insulation, shell molding, friction materials, phenolic wovens and phenolic molding compounds. SI Group continuously evaluates and employs tactics that support its strategic direction of focusing on its identified global market segments. "This step will allow us to grow in line with increasing market demand in Brazil," said Joáo Paulo Porto, SI Group’s Vice President of South America.
