Tech Valley recognizes the value of newly relocated spouses and families in the region. They are often responsible for setting up a new home, settling in children or elderly relatives, exploring new career opportunities, finding local resources and a myriad of other tasks that are all the more difficult when you are unfamiliar with an area.
Local groups will help alleviate some of those difficulties by offering services that are specifically designed to assist spouses and families. Social networking programs – such as community service projects, educational programs, playgroups, ladies nights and family get-togethers – are offered by newcomers clubs and moms groups throughout the region.
Programs provided by many Chambers of Commerce and some employers include professional networking to help spouses find full- or part-time employment, seasonal work, job-sharing, volunteering, continuing education and even setting up a self-run business.
